Description

Louisiana 4-H Youth Resident Summer Camp is more than just fun and games. 4-H Camp strives to develop a variety of life skills related to Head, Heart, Hands and Health. One of the most important skills children learn from camp is self-sufficiency. That is, they learn how to survive four whole days on their own.

Swimming, canoeing, archery, volleyball, basketball, softball, kickball, ping pong, parachute games, line dancing, arts, crafts and more...

Camping is one of the most valuable experiences a child can have. It’s a learning experience that helps boys and girls appreciate the outdoors, live together as a group, get along with others and appreciate people with different interests and backgrounds.

Many fourth, fifth and sixth grade boys and girls participate in 4-H Camp Grant Walker. The camp is held at the LSU AgCenter’s Grant Walker 4-H Educational Center, an 80-acre campsite near Pollock, La., on Highway 8 about 15 miles northeast of Alexandria, La.

Camp Grant Walker is a very fun camp to attend. I am a junior in highschool. I have attended the camp as a camp and a volunteer as a counselor when I became too old to be a counselor. I would suggest this camp to any child that is considering going. The camp is very very safe parents so don\'t be afraid to send your kids. You can still call, email, and send written letters to them. There are activities for every child to do. Making snacks, swimming, archery, canoeing, acing, arts and crafts, hunter education certification class, sports, and much much more. The camp is worth every penny you will spend.
