Description

I used to have an old horse trainer who said you had to ride 100 horses before you could be a horseman.  We ride, we show, I've spent years training and I've worked under some of the best in the business. (See biography)  I haven't just ridden a horse, I've ridden a thousand...or more.  Each year we ride and evaluate almost 100 horses...we sell 50-60.  To quote Dr. White, "I don't claim to be brilliant, but I'd have to be really stupid not to have learned something with all that experience."  We are in a better position to match horses with riders simply because we DO it over and over again.

And unlike most sale barns, we don't just sell what we happen to get...we work hard and carefully select horses on temperament first, then quality, soundness and training.  Most of our horses come from buying sources we know, do regular business with, and respect.  THEY in turn, are good horseman who understand what type of customer we are buying for.  And they sell to us with unconditional exchange guarantee, so there is no reason for them to be anything buy honest with us.  We pay a little more, but it means that we are never in a position where we have bad horses just to get them off our feed bill.  If we can't feel comfortable selling it....it doesn't get sold from here!  So every horse we offer for sale has been ridden and evaluated by a well respected horseman before we ever get it.  Then we TAKE THE TIME TO REALLY LEARN ABOUT THEM, AND TO RIDE THEM UNDER DIFFERENT CIRCUMSTANCES WITH DIFFERENT RIDERS.  We can't predict everything, but we have a darn good idea what kind of family the horse is looking for.  And if he's happy, you will be happy!

There is no ONE BEST HORSE, but there is a best FIT for a particular rider or horse. We have the experience to make a good fit...we do it over and over again.  We aren't going to tell you you can't find a good horse from a private party, or from another barn.  But I get a dozen calls a week from people who have purchased a horse they thought was a good buy and it turned out to be a bad fit... or it is unsound...or both.  The term "beginner friendly" depends on the perspective of the seller!!  We have the experience to KNOW what that should mean, and a reputation to protect.  About half of our sales come from recommendations or are sold to repeat buyers...we must be doing something right.  We aren't the cheapest horses, but they are a good VALUE.  They have training.  They have manners.  They are well broke.  And we earn our money by doing a "full check up by experts!" before we offer them to you.
