For many of Indiana's children with physical challenges, Camp Riley has become an annual tradition centered on more than fresh air and sunshine. Returning campers and first-timers alike look forward to time-honored recreational activities – like swimming, horseback riding and canoeing - and the opportunity to meet others with similar disabilities all in a setting tailored to their needs.
Recognized as one of the best residential camping programs in the Midwest available to youth with disabilities, the camp staff encourages campers to move beyond their limitations and achieve new heights.
From 24-hour licensed medical practitioners and a student nurse in most cabins to accessible accommodations and four customized levels of camp programming, each aspect of Camp Riley reflects careful and loving consideration of the needs of these special campers.
Camp Riley staff members receive extensive training to provide outstanding medical, emotional and physical support to each child, often in a one-to-one relationship.
