Description

BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Six Fighting Camel seniors, who have helped the Camels win four Atlantic Sun Conference trophies and earn the program's first NCAA College Cup berth, will make their final regular season playing appearances at the Eakes Athletic Complex tonight when Campbell hosts Davidson at 7:00 p.m.  Ted Awana (2008-09), Pat Danford (2006-09), Jason Keever (2007-09), Justin Madrid (2005-09), Vince Petrasso (2006-09) and Austin Skakle (2006-09) will pull on the Orange & Black jersey for the final time in a regular season match at home this evening.

The group has helped Campbell build a 25-4-5 A-Sun regular season record over the past four years, and a 32-5-5 mark dating back to fifth-year senior Madrid's freshman campaign.  Along the way, the Camels have won the league regular season title in 2005, '08 and '09 as well as the conference tournament crown in '07, while garnering the program's first-ever year-end national ranking in '08.  During that span, Campbell defeated North Carolina three times in the last four years and became the most successful of all A-Sun schools in the last five seasons.

CAMELS DEFEAT JACKSONVILLE TO WIN A-SUN REGULAR SEASON CROWN:  Vince Petrasso scored the first goal, then had an assist on the second as Campbell defeated Jacksonville 2-1 on Saturday to win its second-straight A-Sun regular season championship.  Keegan Terry added  the game-winning strike for the Camels, who avenged last year's A-Sun final loss and eliminated the Dolphins from this year's league tournament race in the process.

CU SET TO HOST A-SUN FINAL FOUR:  Campbell will host the Atlantic Sun Conference men's soccer championship for the second-straight year at the Eakes Athletic Complex.  On Thurs., Nov. 12, semifinal play begins at 4:00 p.m. with second-seeded Stetson facing the winner of Saturday's Lipscomb at East Tennessee State first-round match.  The winner of Saturday's Mercer at North Florida contest will square off against top-seeded Campbell on Thurs., Nov. 12 at 7:00 p.m.  The final is slated for a 1:00 p.m. kick-off on Sat., Nov. 14.
