Take your next right into an open area and Registration Services will be located on your right. Registration Services is open 5 days a week from 8:00am to 4:00pm. There was stunned silence everywhere.

After the Briercrest Clippers women’s basketball shocked the host Medicine Hat College Rattlers 69-67 in overtime Friday night at the Snake Pit, the visitors stayed quiet with joyful expressions on their face before erupting into a big cheer. They posted their first win of the regular season and improved to 1-14.

The Rattlers didn’t make any noise, and their faces had the looks of disbelief as they walked off the court. They fell to 6-9.

As the Clippers stayed close and the game entered its final minutes, the visitors dictated play, while the hosts looked like they were just trying to hold on.

“We were hesitant for the first time in a long time,” said Rattlers head coach Jason McLester

. “Credit to them. They played very well.

“They brought it to us and worked very hard. There was just something missing that makes us really, really good. It was a tough one tonight. We didn’t have our usual confidence.”

The match started out like it was going to be a typical game between these two clubs. The Rattlers stormed out to 13-0 lead and appeared to be in control. But Briercrest rallied to tie things up 13-13, and the battle was on.

With 2:37 to play in the fourth quarter, the Rattlers took a 61-53 lead, and appeared to be marching to victory. Briercrest rallied once again. With seven seconds left on the clock, Clippers guard Brooke Olmstead hit one-of-two free throws to force a 61-61 tie and send the match to overtime.

In overtime, the Rattlers held a 66-65 lead, but Clippers forward Amara MacCormack hit a three-point shot to put her squad in the lead for good with 38.6 seconds to play. She hit a second three with about 14 seconds remaining on the clock to put her squad up 69-65 to seal the win.

“I think we all love playing here,” said MacCormack, who finished the game with nine points. “I wouldn’t want anything different from tonight.
