DescriptionWelcome to the St. Michael's Summer Camps 2010! Located in Newport, RI, on the campus of St. Michael's Country Day School, we offer a variety of programs for children ages 3-18. There are four different areas of camp, all with the same philosophy: to encourage children to explore, learn, create, and develop in an atmosphere of support and respect. Our summer program is based on a holistic approach to education using several approaches and forms of media. Children are encouraged to express themselves through exploration of the visual arts, creative movement, environmental studies, creative writing, sports and crafts. The program celebrates diversity in our community and our world. We encourage respect, awareness, and the appreciation of others. Our Morning Adventurers program is a stimulating half-day program that introduces our youngsters to key social values such as respect, awareness and to appreciate others. Our camp is unique in the fact that it introduces our youngest group to specialized activities that include swimming, crafts, dance, supervised play, and story time on a daily basis. The program is designed, and run, by professional early childhood educators and their assistants. Details
