Favorite all-time tennis players? "Bjorn Borg was my idol growing up and I was also inspired by Andre Agassi." When did you start playing tennis? "11 years old. Prior to that I played a lot of baseball; I was a pitcher."Your favorite shot in tennis?"My backhand." What accomplishments are you most proud of in your tennis career? "Winning 17 national titles on all 4 surfaces (gold balls) and representing mycountry 3 times for the Italia Cup and the Dubler Cup of 2009."
Andy Stoner was the 1 Tennis player at Cumberland Valley High school then moved on and was a two-time NCAA All-American from Millersville University. In his four years at Millersville, he also won five Pennsylvania Athletic Conference titles in singles & doubles. Traveling extensively in the United States and abroad on the satellite pro tour, he earned his ATP world rankings in singles and doubles. As a member of the 1994 New Jersey Stars: World Team Tennis, he gained valuable experience training with former WTA #1 Martina Navratilova. Andy was a member of the 1998, 1999 & 2003 USTA Italia Cup team and has 17 USTA national titles on all four surfaces. Andy is a certified teacher through the United States Professional Tennis Association and was inducted into the Millersville Athletic Hall of Fame in 2004. His most recent wins include the 2009 USTA Men's 45's Grass Courts in singles & doubles, the 2009 USTA Men's 45's Indoors in singles and 2009 Fiesta Bowl.
