Description

MBSC’s Nike Basketball Camp offers the finest facilities, staff, programs, and a superior instructional method that will bring your game to another level! Coined by a camper as "the everything camp," MBSC provides its own unique teaching method that effectively covers every aspect of the game, offers a variety of fun off-court activities, and attracts campers from all over the world.

Coaching Philosophy: We stress to our campers the importance of individual growth as a basketball player. Consequently, a primary goal of the camp is to teach players how to make themselves better during camp and, most importantly, how to continue the improvement when they leave camp. We want our campers to have fun while learning.

Head Instructor: David Chadbourne We are proud to announce David Chadbourne as MBSC’s Basketball Program’s Head Pro. Chadbourne has just completed his 10th season as the head coach of Franklin Pierce University. Some of Chadbourne’s accomplishments include: Producing six All-Northeast-10 picks, two Daktronics and two NABC All-Region selections; led the Ravens to a 17-11 record and third place in the New England Collegiate Conference in his first season at the helm. Also, Several of Chadbourne's recruits have made an immediate impact as nine different Raven newcomers have earned NE-10 Freshman of the Week honors a total of 19 weeks and four have earned NE-10 All-Rookie Team honors over the last five seasons

Assistant Head Instructor: Malcolm Wynn (Curry College Coach) We are proud to have the Curry College Head Coach, Maclolm Wynn as the assistant Lead Instructor. Wynn has coached at Curry College for 7 seasons. Over the course of seven seasons, he compiled a stellar 142-42 (.771) record. Wynn led RCC to the 2000 NJCAA Division III National Championship and was subsequently named as NJCAA National Coach of the Year. One year later, he guided the Tigers to a 31-1 record and third-place finish in the NJCAA National Tournament. Starting in 1996, his teams won four NJCAA State Championships and five NJCAA Region XXI Championships. Wynn was also a four-time recipient of both NJCAA Region XXI and District 8 Coach of the Year honors.

A CAMP FOR ALL LEVELS! Classes are programmed for three different proficiency levels: beginners, intermediates and advanced players — of all ages. Each student will be tested evaluated and placed in a group of similar ability, and age. Beginners will be playing basketball in just a few days; intermediates will improve all aspects of their game; and advanced players will sharpen their game to a competitive edge. Our intensified program for aspiring Tournament Players are ideal for competitive players who presently play or wish to try out for their high school or other outside leagues. Over three quarters of our enrollment is comprised of sleepover students. The Sleepover program includes 25-30 hours of softball instruction, all meals, housing, and some nightly activities.

SUPERIOR SUPVERVISION! This camp hires 2 separate staff for double the supervision! Coaches are not required to watch campers during non-sport hours and are therefore able to rest and give 100% effort everyday. Their counselor staff have been hired to watch campers during all non-sport hours and field trips! MORE THAN JUST Basketball! Off court activities include, but are not limited to: Baseball Games, Soccer Games, Lazer Tag, Movies, Cool Restaurants (Hard Rock Cafe, Charlie Horse), 6 Flags, Water Country, Whale Watch and much more!

OWNERS/DIRECTORS: The camp is directed by Mehdi and Maria Belhassan. Mehdi has owned the camps since 1995, and prior to this was assistant director to the camp, starting in 1989. As a former tennis professional, and a father himself, he knows the values and dedication it takes to give “the best sports instruction.” Mehdi resides on campus throughout all camp sessions, and quickly gains the respect of all the campers. Maria directs all office and customer service operations of the camp. Maria is the background force, organizing summer events, registration packets, and the many other aspects to putting together a great summer production! Maria is available via email, and during the year the 1-800 number rings to her cell phone. Our policy is that every parent should be 100% comfortable by the time they drop off their child to our camp.
