Description

US Sports Camps is proud to team with A Step Ahead for the fourth consecutive summer.  This year we are proud to return to the New Hampton School.  The school boasts one hundred beautiful acres in the village of New Hampton.  It is nestled in the foothills of the White Mountains, just thirty miles north of Concord and only ninety miles north of Boston.

Come join director and ASA founder, Brendan Smith and the rest of his ASA staff for a great basketball experience. Coach Smith is a physical education and health teacher at Boston Latin School where he also serves as the boys Varsity Basketball Coach.  His first year at Latin school was an impressive one, as he lead the team to it's first DCL Championship in ten years and to the 3rd round of the state tourney with an 18-6 record.  Smith has previously coached men's college basketball at Mt. Ida College, and high school basketball at both Brookline and Newton North High School. He earned his undergraduate degree in Human Performance & Fitness at U/Mass Boston and received his Masters of Education from Cambridge College.

Helping Coach Smith at camp will be Assistant Director Tom Levett. Coach Levett is currently employed  by the Boston Public Schools as a Middle School physical education teacher at the Donald McKay School in East Boston, MA.   Tom has coached basketball both at the college level at Wheelock College in Boston, MA and high school girl's basketball at Quabbin Regional High in Central Mass.   He earned his Bachelor's degree in elementary education/sociology from Fitchburg State College where he played both basketball and baseball.  Tom now resides in Braintree, MA.

Now in it's thirteenth year, A Step Ahead Inc. has become a year-round operation offering clinics and camps in all seasons. In 2008, over 500 participants participated in ASA camps and clinics.  Participants have come from countries as far away as Japan, Israel and Spain as well as from cities all over the Northeast.
