The historical Safety Harbor Resort and Spa founded in 1925 has been known as a unique place “where healing waters flow” ™. Centrally located on the west coast of Florida and nestled on 33 acres on the west shore of Tampa Bay, our Resort anchors the city of Safety Harbor from which the city found its beginnings and was subsequently named.



In 1539 Hernando Desoto reached the shores of Old Tampa Bay and discovered the natural springs (later named “Espiritu Santo Springs") believing he had found the legendary “Fountain of Youth” missed by Ponce De Leon.

     

In 1964 the U.S. Department of the Interior recognized and designated the Safety Harbor Resort and Spa a Historical Landmark and in 1997 it became a Florida Heritage Landmark.

The Four Springs Ballroom, featuring a specially designed Fresco painting representing our heritage, adorns the domed ceiling and can accommodate up to 360 guests.
