The Higher Level, not-for-profit organization along with A.P.M.C., Inc., and its charitable donors, will provide a
place to educate, communicate and elevate the futures of tomorrow, our kids. Our objective is to support
today's youth through literacy workshops and the discipline of sports, which brings a variety of attitudes;
talents; attributes and personalities to achieve one common goal. The Higher Level, will also answer the
need for exercising the mind, body and spirit that a lot of our children lack. Additionally, it will be affordable and
will have easy access for those who are socially and economically challenged, and in need of a place to go.
The Higher Level, will provide the neighborhood with a safe atmosphere, luring community involvement and
Christian support, that hopefully will thrive through parent and student participation.
In mid 1997 A.P.M.C., Inc., was founded by James Lewis and Steven Alexander with the goal of providing an
outlet for children through sports. With Steve's referee abilities, he involved himself with basketball at the high
school level and with Park District basketball leagues. James, along with Steve's help, provided a means
financially through A.P.M.C., Inc., to afford children the opportunity to play basketball at camps during the
summer and attend other promising activities involving sports. In 2004 Reginald Armstrong, was asked to
bring his passion for children and basketball, to A.P.M.C., Inc. In December of 2007 a third director of
programs was added. Janice Jones, a retired principal with the Chicago Public Schools, brings with her a
wealth of experience and together we are hoping to elevate kids to the next level through the not-for-profit
organization, The Higher Level!!
The Higher Level, will provide a venue in which individuals and corporations can give back to the community in
a way that will greatly benefit our children through charitable donations. Our future plans are to build a state of
the art facility, that will allow children of all ages the chance to elevate themselves. Imagine a facility that will
be blessed by the community, the parents and the children that so desperately need a place to belong! It is an
actual embarrassment to summarize the needs of our children, when the right path for them to follow is not
present! The Higher Level, not-for-profit organization, A.P.M.C., Inc., as well our Charitable Donors, look
forward to bridging those gaps in a way that we all can be proud of. God Bless our children!
