Description
The International Tennis Hall of Fame is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the history of tennis, inspiring and encouraging junior tennis development, enshrining tennis heroes and heroines and providing a landmark for tennis enthusiasts worldwide.
Our National Historic Landmark facility hosted the first US National Championships in 1881, a tournament that was held here for 34 years and evolved into today’s US Open. Today our tournament stands as the only remaining North American site to host a professional grass court tennis competition. The six-acre Newport Casino offers an atmosphere of unparalleled ambiance, with its sweeping porches,
manicured grass courts and world class museum.
The International Tennis Hall of Fame is located in the heart of Newport, Rhode Island. Featuring spectacular coastal scenery, awe-inspiring architecture, a thriving downtown waterfront and welcoming hospitality, Newport is New England’s premier resort community. A fantastic summer playground, the “city by the sea” abounds with activities - tour the famed Bellevue Avenue Mansions, sail on the America’s Cup 12-meters, shop in Newport’s historic downtown and enjoy world class dining and nightly entertainment.
