University of Kentucky men's tennis sophomores Eric Quigley (Pewee Valley, Ky.) and Alex Musialek (Dax, France) will begin play in the NCAA Singles Championships on Wednesday at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex in Athens, Ga. Quigley will join junior Brad Cox (Duluth, Ga.) to participate in the NCAA Doubles Championships beginning on Thursday. Both tournaments run through Monday.



Quigley, ranked No. 12 in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings, is listed among the top 16 seeds for the singles tournament and will play No. 20 Ed Corrie of Texas at 11 a.m. EST. A constant at No.1 singles for the Wildcats, Quigley enters the singles tournament having won 11 of his last 12 singles matches. Quigley owns a 21-6 dual-match record, including a 7-3 mark against Southeastern Conference competition.



Quigley has registered 13 wins against opponents ranked in the top 65, including four against top-25 foes. His biggest wins this spring came against No. 5 Alexandre Lacroix of Florida (7-6 [7-5], 6-4) in February and No. 4 Guillermo Gomez of Georgia Tech (6-3, 6-4) 10 days ago in Lexington.



Musialek, listed at No. 49 in the rankings, will face No. 46 Drew Courtney of Virginia at 4:30 p.m. EST. Musialek owns a 20-7 dual-match record this spring, including an 8-2 mark against the SEC. He has defeated four players ranked in the top 105 of the rankings, including No. 9 Michael Shabaz of Virginia.



Quigley and Cox are ranked No. 22 in the national doubles rankings and will take on the 24th-ranked duo of Philip Stephens and Ashley Watling from Tulsa on Thursday. Match time has not been announced. The UK tandem has been listed among the top 25 all season and owns a 16-9 doubles mark heading into the tournament. The duo has beaten two top-10 pairs, including No. 4 Sanam Singh and Houston Barrick from Virginia (8-5) in February.
