DescriptionRodrigo Rappaccioli, a freshman on the Tulane men's tennis team, was named as an honorable mention selection to the All-Louisiana team, it was announced on Thursday by the Louisiana Sports Writers Association. Rappaccioli won 14 singles matches during the 2009-10 season for the Green Wave, including a team-high 10 dual match victories. The Managua, Nicaragua, native collected an 8-5 record as the No. 4 singles player. Rappaccioli also won his singles match at No. 11 Alabama in three sets and came back to win four matches this season after dropping the first set. "I am very happy to have a team full of student-athletes that understand the importance of academics and are able to compete at such a high level on the court as well," Tulane head coach Mark Booras said. "Rodrigo has led our team in that charge and done an exemplary job of defining what a student-athlete is here at Tulane. His success on and off the court are well deserved." The Green Wave men's tennis team combined to post a team grade point average of 3.40 in the spring semester. Rappaccioli also combined with Adam Bernstein to post an 11-7 doubles record in dual match play, including two wins to end the season. Details
