Girl Scouts Louisiana East, is the newly realigned Girl Scout council formed from combining Girl Scouts - Audubon Council and The Girl Scout Council of Southeast Louisiana in April 2008. GSLE is responsible for both organizing and maintaining the quality of Girl Scouting in 23 parishes in southeast Louisiana. Chartered by Girl Scouts of the USA, in 2008 Girl Scouts Louisiana East served about 15,000 girls, with 6,400 committed adults serving as volunteers.

While the geographic area has cexpanded, our mission to build girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place, remains unwavering. Volunteers are the strength of Girl Scouting, and our volunteers are the greatest support team for girls, bringing their talents, energy, and dedication to Girl Scouting.  Women and men interested in volunteering in a variety of capacities are encouraged to contact us today.

The Council is governed by a volunteer policy-making Board of Directors, led by President Jackie Daniels. Operations are managed by a paid chief executive officer, Jackie Alexander, with a staff of about 50 full-time and part-time women and men.
