DescriptionOut of all of the recruiting camps I attended last summer, Wash-U's was the most beneficial for me as a player and recruit. The skills that we focused on helped me improve as a player and I felt as though there was a continuity between the skills sessions and the games. The coaches showed interest in each player, helping them develop their skills and teach them things that they could do at home to make them better players. When I work on my skills, I still incorporate some of the drills I learned at this camp and am better for it. In terms of recruiting, it served as a perfect opportunity for the coaches to watch me play. They were able to see me in both a practice and game environment which helped them in their evaluation. I felt as though they really got to know me as a player, and gave me a fair evaluation at the end of the camp. As I said before, it was the best recruiting camp I attended. The WashU camp provides great insight into college soccer and college life. You get a lot of playing time with college coaches and players, but there it also allows for you to experience living at WashU and get a more in depth view of the campus and campus life. Overall it's helps you to better understand what WashU and WashU soccer is all about! This camp is what ultimately influenced me to apply early decision to WashU. The coaches really made an effort to get to know each player and we also got to play with some of the current players from the team. I also got the opportunity to learn more about the academics at WashU by meeting with admissions officers and asking the current players what their student athlete experience is like. It was really fun playing in a competitive environment with players from all over the country that are just as interested in WashU as I am. This was a great way for me to learn what it would be like to play soccer at WashU, and I loved every minute of it! Details
