Description

Camp Fire USA Southwest Louisiana Council

has been serving the youth of Southwest

Louisiana since 1915. Although Camp Fire

was originally a youth development

organization for girls only, Camp Fire USA

has opened its enrollment to boys and girls

between the ages of 3 and 21. We also

incorporate family strengthening into all of

our programs!

Nationally, Camp Fire USA was founded in 1910 and as a youth

service organization, has taught children good citizenship, social

responsibility, and personal life skills.

The Camp Fire concept is a combination of the great American

tradition of pioneering and the inheritance of Native American

lore. These basic back-to-nature traditions, along with modern

day expectations, and family strengthening practices, form the

culture of today's organization.

Locally, the Camp Fire USA Southwest Louisiana Council, was

established in 1915.  Governed by a volunteer Board of leaders

from the community.
