Description

What an exciting summer season we have planned, full of amazing activities and memorable experiences! I want to take this opportunity to welcome you to B'nai B'rith Camp, as well as share with you my excitement for our upcoming summer season.

B'nai B'rith Camp has been my second home. For over 20 years, I have been affiliated with B.B. Camp. Every summer, from 3rd to 9th grade, I went to B.B. Camp as a camper. Then I went through the Counselor-in-Training (C.I.T.) Program, and finally journeyed through the ranks of staff: first as a junior counselor, then as a senior counselor, a song leader, a leadership coordinator, the C.I.T./L.I.T. Director, the Assistant B'nai B'rith Camp Director, and since 1999 as the Camp Director.

As a youth, I attended Sunday school, Hebrew School, and was very active in the B'nai B'rith Youth Organization, however, I truly believe my years as a B'nai B'rith camper made the most impact in creating my Jewish identity. As the B'nai B'rith Camp Director my passion is working with our youth to aid in creating a strong Jewish identity. B'nai B'rith Camp is the perfect place for just that; creating Jewish identities. I'm thrilled to be able to take part in this important educational role in your child's life.

Looking forward to the summer ahead, you will find new and exciting changes, including new facilites and the creation of new programming. Important priorities of mine are continuing B.B. Camp tradition, emphasizing Judaism in all of our programming, creating a safe space for our youth, and bringing back our incredible staff.

'm committed to creating a very special and memorable experience for our kids this summer. If you have any questions, please feel free to call me at (503) 452-3444. e-mail me at mkoplan@oregonjcc.org, or please drop by my office to see me.

I'm looking forward to seeing your children at B.B. Camp for a fabulous summer!
