DescriptionYour perfect summer day happens at Whippoorwill Farm Day Camp, a 50-acre farm where campers explore creeks, wooded hills, fields, and the diverse wildlife of Whippoorwill Farm. The camp, in its 39th season, encourages campers to experience the wonders of nature and to discover individual differences and the importance of cooperation. Most of all, though, we have fun. Bring as little as possible! All your camper will need is a swimsuit, creek shoes (please, no flip-flops) and a sack lunch. Many campers like to put their supplies in a day pack. Please put names on all belongings! Camp is a great place to wear old clothing and a bad place for expensive clothes. Hats and sunscreen are also good items to pack. Please do not send expensive sweaters, towels or any unnecessary items that will (historically) become lost. Usually children dry off quickly and do not need a towel. Radios and computer games do not belong in a camp environment. Jewelry, watches and cameras end up at the bottom of the creek or in other unimaginable places. Campers who are entering 2nd or 3rd grade and are 7-8 years old make choices to create their special day. Activities like kayaking, rappelling, and craft activities happen four times during the day.
