The University of Oklahoma, Norman, has an athletic tradition of excellence. The campus is located just 15 minutes south of the state's capital, Oklahoma City. Offering the perfect balance of live ball drills, tennis tactics, and match-play, this Nike Tennis Camp is ideal for campers of all abilities.
Campers will play at the University's Headington Tennis Complex, one of the top facilities in the Big 12 Conference and the nation. The facility includes 12 championship courts divided into four quadrants. In case of rain, campers will have access to 6 indoor courts. The comfortable, air-conditioned, dorms and dining hall are all within walking distance of the courts.
Program Information
Campers can choose between overnight and day camp (9:00am-5:00pm) options. The overnight camp is limited to boys and girls ages 9-18. The day camp is limited to boys and girls ages 6-18.
In addition to the on-court training, overnight campers will participate in evening activities including: a movie night and sports activities (ultimate frisbee, volleyball, and soccer)
Camp Directors
David Mullins, Head Women's Coach at the University of Oklahoma returns for his second year as Nike Camp Director. Mullins is one of the top young college coaches in the U.S. He is a former collegiate All-American and professional tour player. Prior to coming to University of Oklahoma, Mullins was the assistant coach for the women's team at Northwestern University. Mullins helped lead the Northwestern Wildcats to at least the round of 16 of the NCAA championships in each of his three seasons.
Joining Mullins and directing the first week of camp (June 13-17) is John Roddick, the Sooner's Head Men's Tennis Coach. Roddick is a former college All-American, professional tennis player and US World Team Captain as well as ATP coach. Most recently, Roddick coached his brother Andy, a former No. 1 ranked player in the world, as well as, other ATP players, Mardy Fish and Wayne Odesnik.
Assisting Mullins is Women's Assistant Coach, Brook Connelly. A USPTA certified professional, Connelly joined the OU staff after completing an outstanding college career at the University of Notre Dame. An All-American, she finished her senior year ranked third in the nation in doubles.
