DescriptionMaromac began in 1968 when Esther Marovitch (BA Psych. Dip.PE, Dip.ED) and Sydney Marovitch (M.ED, BA, Dip.PE, Dip.ED) both Classroom and Physical Education Teachers, purchased a beautiful property in the heart of the Laurentian Mountains to open a summer camp for children from all over the world. Maromac offers accommodation in both our historic main building and our rustic cabins. Our main building was built in 1898 and served as residence for the workers in what was then a saw mill. In 1985 the building was restored and renovated with knotty pine covering the walls and floors. Insulation and heating as well as a second kitchen for baking breads was added. The main building offers cozy bedrooms with shared bathrooms on the 2nd and 3rd floor while the main floor offers a large recreation room with stage, old stone fire place and comfortable chairs and table to relax in while enjoying a view of the magnificent lake.
