n this beautiful setting, campers wade in our spring-fed stream, observe abundant wildlife, gaze at the splendor of a star-filled sky and experience the wonders of nature. While they’re learning more about the natural world, they’re also learning more about themselves.
Camp Matawa instills positive values such as caring, respect, honesty and responsibility – values that help young people make positive choices for a healthy life. Camp Matawa is accredited by the American Camping Association, reflecting demonstrated compliance with more than 300 individual health, safety and program quality standards. These standards establish criteria for program, personnel, transportation, administrative and emergency procedures, health care, food service and program activities. Camp Matawa is among only 25% of camps in the United States that is accredited. Accreditation assures that Camp Matawa has been measured against national standards for best practices in the camping industry. Camp Matawa also offers year-round activities for schools, churches, companies and other groups.YMCA Camp Matawa is a fun, educational and exciting adventure! With more than 130 acres of pines and open fields, and 30,000 acres of adjacent state forest, Camp Matawa offers a wide variety of activities that challenge and inspire campers of all ages.

Matawa Madness Week
One week sessions for ages 10-15, unless noted. Includes Ropes Challenge, Gone Fishin', Advanced Equestrian, Soccer Camp, Biking Camp, Survival Camp, and Toolin' It (ages 13-16). Only offered during Session 1: June 22-27. Pricing tiers are based on what families can best afford and range from $650 to $840 per week, depending on the camp type.
