Description

Pendola Center is the official Youth Ministry summer camp for the Catholic Diocese of Sacramento, additionally serving as outdoor school, family vacation spot, and youth retreat center throughout the year. Located two hours northeast of Sacramento, the facility encompasses 40 acres in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada, adjoining the Tahoe National Forest. Our camp has twelve rustic cabins, an activity center, archery range, arts and crafts area, a nature program. an extremely refreshing mountain spring pond, and more than ample space for sports and exploration- all surrounded by the beauty of the great outdoors. During the summer months, we offer a Seedlings Mini-Week for young ones, backpacking and canoeing trips for older youth, a Camper-In-Leadership Training program, a Counselor In Training Program for older teenagers. and traditional camp for all ages. Camp Pendola has operated since our opening in 1959. In 2009, we celebrated fifty wonderful years of camp memories.

Enjoy your week living in a simple cabin with others where Catholic values come alive in a positive, natural, and fun-filled way. We celebrate Mass each week and begin and end each day with prayer. Our entire program, staff, spirit, and environment are conducive to and supportive of religious growth and maturity.

Please take a look around our site to gain a better sense of who we are and what we have to offer.

The summer season is June 13 – August 11, 2010. All staff will be off July 4-6. We will be finishing overnight camp on August 7 and staff banquet will be August 10. We will be paying a weekly base salary of $272.00.  Additional pay is based on previous Pendola summer experience and special certifications or licenses.  All staff are required to complete Lifeguard Training, or be currently certified, prior to the beginning of pre-camp training. Lifeguard Training will take place June 7-11. A complete schedule of training opportunities will be available by May 1, 2010.
