Description


Highland Retreat is a year-round Christian retreat  center and camp located in the mountains of northwestern Virginia on the edge of the Shenandoah Valley. The 167 acres of mostly forested land is close to the George Washington National Forest and offers scenic vistas as well as a wide variety of wildlife in its hills, streams, pond and fields.

Highland Retreat is a non-profit corporation closely affiliated with Virginia Mennonite Conference of the Mennonite Church USA.  The facilities are offered to churches, families, individuals, and groups whose interests are compatible with Christian principles.


Our mission is to provide an outdoor setting where people meet Jesus Christ and explore His creation.  In programming we aim to provide personal group experiences that encourage meaningful spiritual growth, focusing on young people and youth-related constituencies, and capitalizing on the rustic setting. We welcome all campers regardless of race, sex, age, handicap, or national origin.
