The Pocono Equestrian Center committed to helping children and youth who are either underprivileged, at-risk, have a serious illness, learning disabilities, and/or other special needs. We believe they can gain skills leading to fuller, more productive lives through close interaction with rescued and/or rehabilitated horses. The Pocono Equestrian Center was founded February 2003, on the conviction that children with special needs can interact with horses in a way that encourages emotional bonding and promotes self-esteem. We combined a life-long love for horses with programs designed to teach the children how to handle our animals in a safe and loving manner. Emotionally, we need to nurture our children so they can grow up to be a strong part of our communities.
