Description
Welcome to Slippery Falls Scout Ranch, the premier Boy Scout Summer Camp of the Last Frontier Council. Slippery Falls is located near the town of Tishomingo, in the southeastern part of Oklahoma, near the Arbuckle Mountains. Slippery Falls, gets its name from the signature waterfall at the camp, in the Pennington Creek. This smooth slab is well loved by youth and adults as a great way to cool off during a hot summer day.
The camp consists of 1,480 continuous acres split by the Pennington Creek and centered around Lake Payne, which plays host to most aquatics activities. The camp features a centralized dining hall, regional shower facilities and program areas, with plenty of room to roam, explore, and learn. The camp also features large granite outcroppings, perfect for the curious rock climber.
Slippery Falls Scout Ranch is celebrating 42 years of great camping experiences in 2010. Boy Scout summer camp is an experience that will stay with a youth forever, so many special activities will be happening each week of camp. This summer, SFSR will host Scouting units not only from the Last Frontier Council, Oklahoma but also from Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, Kansas and Missouri. Our goal is to provide the best possible week of Scout camp for those youth as they grow up to become leaders in our communities, states and nation.
In order to enjoy the highest quality program, planning must begin now. Please read through this site and the 2010 Leader’s Guide to Summer Camp and make note of any questions that you may have. We hope that you will encourage every youth in your unit to attend this year's camp. Camperships are available for those Last Frontier Council families who need assistance.
