DescriptionWelcome to Camp Manatoc and thank you for bringing your unit to your camp. This guide will assist unit leaders, both adult and youth, in making your week here both memorable and productive. This book is the primary reference for procedures related to Summer Camp Operations. Information on program may be found in the Program Guide, and forms and other stand alone documents are found on the Forms Page, or Forms Guide.
Scouts of the Greater Akron Area have been attending camp in the hills of the Cuyahoga Valley starting in 1922. Through the years, the location, size, and facilities of the camp have changed, however the purpose has not. The camp, its staff, unit leaders and volunteers all work hard to provide every Scout the best in Scout summer camping. Our main flag for camp is flown atop the Butler Memorial dedicated to H. Karl Butler, the local philanthropist primarily responsible for the land the camp sits on. The camp you are attending this summer has a history dating to 1932 and we are all proud to welcome all to understand why “…to these things you must return.” Details
