Summer Upper School Courses June 28 - July 24, 2009 Students may take one new course or two repeat courses during the four-week summer program. Upon successful completion, high school credit is awarded, which is transferable to any Virginia high school and most high schools across the United States. The following courses are planned for Summer 2009:
English Grades 9, 10, & 11 (new and repeat)
Foreign Languages Spanish I & II
Algebra I & II Geometry
Science Biology (includes lab work) Chemistry (includes lab work)
U.S. History
Other Courses NEW! Art (offered as a ½ day course) Study Skills (offered only as a non-credit ½ day course) Computer Literacy (offered as a ½ day course)

Course offerings are subject to demand. Most students accepted by June 10th will be able to reserve a space for their desired class. After June 10th, please call the Upper School Academic Office at 540-636-5215 to check on course availability. Randolph-Macon Academy reserves the right to cancel classes if sufficient numbers for the class are not met.

Abstract Mathematics A pre-algebraic course intended for students who have a solid foundation in computational mathematics. An excellent course to take to prepare for pre-algebra or Algebra I. Technology Word processing, publishing, keyboarding skills, web design, spreadsheets, and internet research. Study Skills Includes note taking, studying for tests and quizzes, time management, organization, and research skills.
