The mission of Camp Stanislaus is to provide campers and counselors a safe and enjoyable recreational and learning experience in the Catholic tradition and under the leadership of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart.
The Brothers of the Sacred Heart, a religious order of men, was founded in Lyons, France, in 1821. The founder was Andre' Coindre, a diocesan priest. His chief mission was the moral, intellectual and religious development of young boys left in distress by the disintegration of family life following the French Revolution.

The arrival of the Brothers in Mobile, Alabama, in 1847 signaled the beginning of the transformation of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart from a strictly French institution to a worldwide congregation.
