DescriptionSummer workshops are led by Austin's best writers: award-winning poets, novelists, playwrights, and essayists. Students write poetry and prose, and learn to revise and edit their work for publication. The camp culminates in the publication of a beautiful, library-quality anthology and two public readings, the second followed by a book signing with our student authors. Each student receives a copy of the published anthology, which is also donated to the Austin Public Library system and sold at Book People. Two field trips will also be planned for the summer camp. Classes are small (12–15 students), and students are placed within their age group. Camps are open to all Austin-area rising 3rd–12th graders. Parent Orientation will be conducted prior to the camp session, and the cost of the camp is $425, which includes three weeks of writing workshops, daily snacks, a journal, a copy of the anthology, a Badgerdog T-shirt, and two public reading events.
