DescriptionEvery summer, 120 young writers from across the country come together to share their work, practice craft, and improve their writing in Iowa City, Iowa, home of the University of Iowa. Join us for one of two sessions! Find out just how much you can improve your writing with two weeks of intensive focus. Come to the Iowa Young Writers' Studio in summer 2010! Studio participants live in Currier Hall on the University of Iowa's campus. Currier is a stately, traditional building located on a tree-lined street near the heart of the University's campus. A courtyard, several lounges, laundry rooms, vending machines, a game room, a grand piano, and most importantly, a computer lab are some of its amenities. The residence hall and its surroundings are well lit. Currier's doors are locked each night and University security officers make regular rounds of each floor. Each student room can be locked from the inside. A Residence Hall Manager is available 24 hours a day. Since the rooms in Currier are doubles, participants are assigned roommates. Students fill out a questionnaire to help the Studio in choosing compatible roommates. Details
