DescriptionThe Jewish Community Center of San Francisco is the oldest Jewish center on the West Coast, providing educational, social, cultural and fitness programs to the community since 1877. Throughout the year at the JCCSF, people attend daytime events, lifelong learning classes, lectures with Nobel Prize-winners and events with acclaimed artists – all at prices well below those charged by downtown venues. BookFest, a free event, gives people a chance to meet beloved and esteemed international authors. Last season, writer and philosopher Bernard-Henri Lévy spoke to a capacity crowd at the free Pritzker Family Lecture. Browse these pages for free and low-cost arts, lectures and family events. The current economy affects us all, but unfortunate circumstances should not keep people from participating in the JCCSF community. Because the JCCSF has such a positive effect on individuals, couples and families, we want everyone in the Bay Area to take advantage of all we offer. We also want people to continue their enjoyment of the JCCSF in spite of economic setback. To make participation easier for families, we also offer convenient, low-cost childcare.
