Description

The Napa Valley Writers’ Conference is now in its thirtieth year as one of the best and most prestigious summer writing programs. Since its beginning as an informal summer gathering of writers, the Conference has remained a place to convene for fellowship, serious work with a focus on craft, and a week spent beside the hills and vineyards that have made the Napa Valley famous.

Michael Byers, Ron Carlson, Lan Samantha Chang, and Curtis Sittenfeld will teach in our fiction program. Brenda Hillman, Major Jackson, Arthur Sze, and C.D. Wright will teach in our poetry program.

Applications to the 2010 program will be considered between March 1 and May 1. For priority admission and a better chance at your choice of workshop, we suggest you apply by April 1. We will send notifications of acceptance within 30 days of receiving an application.

Scholarship applications are due no later than April 1. Scholarship decisions will be announced by May 1.

The public is welcome to attend the many readings and lectures presented by our faculty July 26–30. Advance tickets are $8 for the readings and $25 for the lectures. Tickets sold at the door are $10 for readings and $30 for lectures.
