DescriptionCamp Robinwood is a beautiful 206 acre camp in Willis, Texas. This camp offers troops/groups many camping opportunities in dorms, cabins, or platform tents.
Campers may participate in several camp activities including swimming, canoeing, and paddle boating on Lake Ann. Campers also have opportunities to taking hikes, practicing archery, making nature crafts and learning about nature, having cookouts, and building outdoor skills. Although Girl Scouts began in 1912, the 1930s would see the dawning of a new age for Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council when the first African-American troop was organized. Girl Scout, Gloria Scott from the 1970sDuring the 1940s, the Houston Girl Scouts established Camp Robinwood in Willis, Texas, which was a gift from four African-American businessmen, J.H. Jemison, Hobart Taylor, Carter Wesley and A.C. Dupree. The two hundred acres were donated for all Girl Scouts regardless of race. Details
