I will never forget the summer of 2002, when the first session of Camp Tech opened its doors with 12 registrations but only one showed. I had to literally go into the ladies room and pray to see if I should continue, as I walked out of the restroom God revealed to me that if only one attends, teach them. So I began the session with the one and about an hour later 11 more arrived. The camp has grown from 12 students to servicing over 500 plus student in the past five years, and now the vision of becoming a national camp is manifesting.



Camp Tech was birthed from the desire to share what I had learned from self teaching myself IT. The AHA moment presented itself in 2000, when I observed how video games at the Sega/Nintendo where created not just utilizing the computer technology but the fighting games where actual people emulating a fight, filmed in front of blue screen and then computerized. At that moment I thought about all the kids back home on the east coast who are unaware of what goes on in the background of the game design. I envisioned a lab where kids could actually create the game they played instead of just playing them. Camp Tech was birthed on that plan ride home.
