DescriptionOn January 23 of 2007 the MRVYS received its charter, but this organization’s history began some time before that. In the 1980’s while in his position as executive director of one of Toronto’s prominent community organizations Mr. Robert Brown had completed a needs survey of the youth of Malvern and hence the birth of The Malvern Youth Club. In 2004 Mr. Brown had a burning desire to see this organization grow in the community and worked hard to put a board in place. He spent a great deal of time pouring out his vision to all that will listen. It was Robert Brown who first expressed a desire to rename the organization “The Malvern Rouge Valley Youth Services”, he changed the name to reflect the political riding of Scarborough Rouge. To get a broader picture of Robert Brown and his vision, feel free to download the article written by newspaper columnist Isrealine Shockness at the time of his passing in September 2004. Details
