DescriptionCamp Salvation Bible Conference Association located near North Lake is gearing up for another camping season. Founded in 1952 and Incorporated in 1960 as a Non-Profit Corporation, it has held camps every summer since. The Camp was started by American Sunday School Union, with the generosity of the Nora Parsons Family who furnished the land. It is governed by a local Board, and it has continued to give campers a great camping experience. Campers have gone to just about every continent f the world as workers for Jesus Christ. In the early days they met under army tents and slept on army cots. The camp was close to Monument Lake then. In 1963 they moved their camp to the present site, where now they have 14 buildings which includes 2 new restroom facilities with showers, one for the girls and one for the boys. All this was possible by people donating their time and resources to the need; meeting part of the need was the late Shirley Parsons Barron and her late husband Stanley S. Barron Jr. of Weston who purchased the land after it had sold so that Camp Salvation would not have to move. And now we thank Linda Barron, Stan’s Second wife, for keeping the tradition of Camp Salvation alive today. Donations and voluntarism is what made the Camp and keeps it going. We have cooks, counselors, speakers, teachers, wranglers, repairmen, recreational personal, nurses and other people who volunteer to make the Camp possible We work with local Churches and also with the local Salvation Army to make it possible for children to come to Camp Details
