Description

You may be wondering to yourself, why should I choose Camp Peregrine? Well, there are many ways that Camp Peregrine sets itself apart from other camps and why Camp Peregrine may be the right camp for you and your child.

First off, we are not that different from most of your traditional boys camps in Maine, or anywhere for that matter. We have swimming & boating as a daily routine, along with Archery, Nature programs that focus on hands-on learning as well as Arts & Crafts and Wilderness Trips. Kids get to hand pick their schedules each week so they are sure to enjoy the activities they pick.

What sets us apart however our approach camp. First, we are a much smaller camp than most out there. Your typical boys camp has from 150 to over 300 kids per session...Camp Peregrine has only 60 boys per session! We feel that a small camp size allows children to open up more to their surroundings and create much better, longer lasting relationships with other kids as well as the staff.

Second of all we've developed a unique camp philosophy that puts the campers leadership and character development first. By giving our counselors the skills and programs to work with, they can provide plenty of one on one time with each child. Each cabin will have plenty of time to go through our ropes courses and team building activities throughout the summer, continuously building on and developing their communication skills, strength of character and appreciation for the natural world.

Something else you won't find at most camps is professional tutoring in math and reading. Whether your child needs a little extra help to get them up to speed or to continue skill development to prepare them for the upcoming year, our certified tutors can help. We will work with your child's current teacher to develop a plan for their summer academic needs. We believe that a little work with a lot of play over the summer can be a great combination for learning.

We have also created a partnership with some of the best in outdoor adventure right down the road in Acadia National Park. Aqua Terra Adventures and Acadia Mountain Guides will guide our kids this summer through some of the most spectacular ecosystems in the world! Feel confidant climbing in Acadia National Park and sea kayaking right from the dock in Bar Harbor with some of top instructors in their industries, setting the standards for their sports in the region and the nation. We are very proud to be working with the best of the best and to bring your child world class outdoor adventures this summer.

Finally, our facilities will be the best in the industry starting in 2007 with brand new camper cabins. Most cabins will have a full bathroom and a screened in porch for their camping enjoyment. You just won't find this level of cabin facilities at most camps, period. We are also completely renovating our old dining facilities to a state of the art dining hall that can serve over 80 people a meal. Set right on the water, your child will get spectacular views while they dine on healthy, family style meals.

If you still aren't sure whether Camp Peregrine is right for you or your child, don't hesitate to call or email us at any time @ 207-565-2195 or email your questions to info@campperegrine.com. We look forward to the opportunity to talk more with you about Camp Peregrine, your child and what we can do to make this summer the best summer of his life.
