Camp Carmel originated in 1945 when two associations of Baptist churches rented a local Christian camp for two weeks each year. In 1953 the Ten Mile and Monogahela Baptist Associations purchased the present location from the Mc Keesport Y.M.C.A.

Camp is a great place. The main focus of

your week will be to learn about God, but in that time you

will try a lot of things you never have before, whether it be

going in the river for the first time, going on a hike, or going

rock climbing. You will feel on top of the world.

The main reason that I think anybody should come

to camp though, is because you will make many new and

true friends who care about you and you will be close to

them the rest of your life. Even if only for one week, your

experience will change your life forever. There really is

something for everyone here.
