Exciting surf experience for boys and girls ages 6 to 17. Your child will be met each morning by their own Ohana Surf Camp instructor. In addition to our professional staff, two Beach Patrol lifeguards will also be on duty at the 27th and 29th street jetties from 9:15 until the end of camp. Each week your child will receive instruction in ocean safety and surf etiquette. Every morning will begin with light stretching and warm'ups. A member of the Surfrider Foundation will also visit the Camp each week to explain the organization's leading role in helping to preserve the ocean and its habitat. Your child will also learn about ocean science topics through a partnership with Texas A & M at Galveston and Texas Marine Mammals Stranding Network, such as waves and tides, marine biology, coastal ecology, and beach profiles. Thursday afternoon is parent day; you are welcome to join us and help the instructors teach your child! Lance Gandy Photography will be on hand to take scheduled action photos as requested. The cost of the camp is $90.00 per child for a three day session.
