We will now be able to offer additional activities including a high ropes course, a great rope swing into the lake, a dance studio and tennis for example, in a beautiful facility with over 300 acres of private woods and lakefront. All of Camp Hawthorne’s most beloved activities that are so popular and meaningful to our campers, including our music and story telling campfires, capture the flag games, sailing and creative arts programs, film making programs, and canoe trips will all be part of the new program. We expect that 90% of the campers from Camp Hawthorne will make the move along with most of our staff and camp equipment.

All of the camp programs for 2010 will be similar to those offered in our website.

I believe that our camp culture, which has made our camp such a unique and growth experience for the campers, is easily transferable because its essence lives in the hearts of our campers and staff. The new setting will give us an opportunity to share the energy of the Camp Hawthorne spirit with other campers in a new and permanent home for our camp community.
