Orientation is designed to calm your nerves, answer your questions, and prepare you for the many exciting challenges that await you at UWSP. You will be welcomed by an enthusiastic staff that will inform you of university programs and services and acquaint you with the campus. Orientation will ease your adjustment into your new community.
Your involvement in Orientation is important, not just for the support it provides your son or daughter, but for the wealth of information tailored specifically to your questions and concerns. We address academic requirements, degree planning, and academic advising. You will also be given information on academic support programs, billing, health and counseling services, career counseling, dining options, residence hall living, rules and regulations, safety issues, and adjustment to the University environment. You will be able to meet with faculty, staff and students, as well as other parents. The one and a half days are busy, informative, and anxiety reducing for many parents. You will be able to share common concerns with other parents while getting all of your important questions answered. We sincerely encourage you to accompany your son or daughter to Orientation, but you are not required to attend.
The Midwest Student Exchange Program (MSEP) was established by the Midwestern Higher Education Compact to provide qualified students with a more affordable means of attending an out-of-state institution. Students who are residents of a participating state (Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska or North Dakota) may apply to attend UW-Stevens Point at a significantly reduced tuition rate.
