As most of you already know, this past summer Thornton Friends School has shut its doors forever. You can read more about this decision here.

Though the school has closed, our community lives on.

Over the years, the people of Thornton Friends have formed an incredible community, with tight bonds and a wealth of wisdom and experience.

This web site will now be, in some ways and as best it can, the hub of that activity.

Thanks for coming - please look around and drop us a line - we are always thrilled to hear from former Thornton students, teachers, staff, parents and friends.

I’m specifically looking for people who attended from 1976 – 1980 (they may have graduated after ’80, but would have been there then.)  Most particularly, I’m after the six other people who graduated in 1980.

Thornton/the Interlocking Curriculum was an off-campus program of Sandy Spring Friends School until 1980.  SSFS’s class of 1980 is holding a 30th reunion in conjunction with SSFS’s Alumni Weekend this coming June 4-6.  I thought it would be nice to get in touch with and invite the other members of my IC graduating class to the SSFS reunion.  Until part-way through our senior year, when the IC received its accreditation, we were technically students of SSFS.  I suspect some of my IC classmates would be interested in seeing their SSFS contemporaries.
