Shady Lawn Ranch has been used as a horse camp on and off for over 50 years. Jane and Patrick Oehlsen are pleased to be restoring the ranch as a working horse camp.
Most of the horse-related buildings had been torn down by previous owners, so the Oehlsens have begun by building new horse facilities. These facilities are designed to accommodate all types of riding, in all kinds of weather. Recent additions are a pole barn for the horses, and a large covered arena which is used both for camp lessons, and for weekly hour-long riding lessons.
The horse camps range from one-week day camps, to weekly overnight camps, to weekend camps and special group camps, such as the Scouts and church groups. Hourly lessons are available year-round. One-week camps are offered all summer. Weekend and off-track day camps are run throughout the school year.
So, come on out and learn to ride at Shady Lawn Ranch!
