Founded in 1930, the North East River Yacht Club is a private yacht club located at the headwaters of the Chesapeake Bay on the North East River in North East, Maryland . The club is a member of the CBYCA (Chesapeake Bay Yacht Clubs Association) and the CBYRA (Chesapeake Bay Yacht Racing Association). Its 500 feet of waterfront property provide a perfect setting to entertain or just relax with family or friends. Dining facilities are superb, from the informality of the outdoor patio to the cordial atmosphere of the large and airy Dining Room with its commanding view of the upper Chesapeake Bay. The Burgee Lounge and bar with it's nautical theme provides a welcoming 'watering hole' after a busy day on the water and a large picnic grove with tables and fireplace for family cookouts. The club has the perfect venue and all the facilities to cater a successful party or that special private function.
The club has a large sail race program with competitive handicap racing, and informal Thursday evening racing directly in front of the club. They also have an expending junior sail program offering learn to sail camps through out the summer.
Both boaters and landlubbers will find the club a congenial place to relax and enjoy themselves. The club has it's own small beach where swimming is allowed and members also enjoy access to a pool at a nearby facility.
Year-round club activities provide members the opportunity to participate and socialize at events and entertainment such as sail races, cruises, parties, picnics/BBQs, dances, Balls, seminars, cardboard boat race, new member/birthday nights.
In addition, NERYC membership has the great benefit of reciprocity (visitation rights) with a host of yacht clubs around the world.
