Camp Carysbrook provides a setting which promotes the exploration and development of each camper's abilities and potential and assists them in discovering the richness of life.
Each camper enjoys the rewards and challenges of living in a small community where the emphasis is on a balance between working with others and self-discovery.
A program of group, individual, organized and impromptu activities is planned so that each camper can find a challenge.
The 200 acre campsite on the Little River includes a spring-fed lake, tennis courts, playing fields, riding rings, cabins, dining hall, activity buildings, bath house, archery and rifle ranges, overnight camp sites, nature paths, climbing wall and a sand volleyball court. Five miles of hiking and riding trails wind through the forests of the camp. The original log cabins nestle at the edge of the forest and define the central campground.
Tradition at Carysbrook dates back to 1923 and embodies the spirit of individual opportunity within a context of community living and support. These traditions include Saturday night Campfire, Vespers, Candlelight Campfire, Final Banquet, group singing after meals and at most every opportunity, all-camp Evening Programs, and the friendly rivalry and cooperation of the Green and Brown teams.
