To encourage excellence and enrichment opportunities among gifted students, and to expand students’ knowledge in areas of interest.
...MISSION and HISTORY
The Young Scholars Program began in 1986 as an extension of the Aurora University Masters’ Degree in Gifted Education. The Masters level teachers completed their coursework by delivering instructional experiences to local gifted and talented students. Change in state policy and University focus has afforded change. We continue to partner with Aurora University but in February 2001 The Scholars Program became a program of the Center for Application Based Learning, a Naperville non-for-profit organization whose mission is to promote and advocate applications based learning especially for science and math. Our program sponsored by Packer Foundation continues to offer the same high quality programs continuing to hire Master Level teachers who are well known for their expertise.
