DescriptionCamp Hemlock is a Christian Service Brigade camp for boys and girls ages 6 to 18 (1st through 12th grade). Most of our campers come from Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania, although we have had campers from all over the world attend. All activities are geared for specific audiences. Boys and girls camps are held separately, it is not a co-ed camp. The basic purpose of the camp is to introduce individuals to Jesus Christ and to help them become mature Christians. A Bible-centered emphasis is maintained without promoting a particular church or denomination. Bible teaching and Bible-related talks are part of every camp. Everyone attending camp will have a good experience regardless of religious background. Click here to view our Standard Of Faith. The rules for acceptance and participation in the programs of Camp Hemlock are the same for everyone without regard to race, color, national origin or religious beliefs. Campers do not have to be members of Christian Service Brigade to attend. History of Camp Hemlock Camp Hemlock began with a group of men who had a vision for a wilderness camping program devoted to winning and training boys for Christ. The ministry began to grow, and in 1986 a decision was made to incorporate Camp Hemlock as a 509(a)(2) Corporation, which operates under the same rules as a 501(c)(3) Corporation. God has provided for all of the Camp's needs through the years, and attendance at the Camp is constantly growing. For this we are thankful to Him for being a great God. What Hemlock Offers To a child, camp is the adventure of a lifetime. For a brief period, the confines of the schoolroom are replaced by the endless opportunities of the outside world. At camp, new friends, caring counselors, challenging activities, and the smell of nightly campfires await them. The Hemlock Wilderness Brigade Camp experience is this and much more.
