Description

Star Dancers was established in 1998 in Round Rock, TX with a vision to serve young ladies in the community through dance.

Being the very first private junior dance team in this area, Star Dancers has evolved from a small team of 12 members to three large competitive dance teams in three age divisions, and we continue to grow and strive for excellence in all we do.

OUR PHILOSOPHY is one of working very hard and being passionate about our performances. We expect the very best of our students in class and make the most of every minute we are together. We are professional and hold a high standard of excellence. From costuming to music choices to dance moves, our goal is to stand out in a positive way that makes others take notice.

OUR DANCE CLASSES We offer a variety of technical classes that complement what our teams do as well as offer our community a place to dance. Our classes are run very efficiently and with an emphasis on every dancer getting the instruction that he/she needs. It’s a positive atmosphere, but with the expectation that everyone works hard and accepts criticism well in order to improve their skills. We have outstanding instructors who are very qualified and love teaching. We have a place for everyone!

COMPETITIVE TEAMS – To become a member of one of our teams you must audition in May for the following season beginning in June and ending in May of the following year. Audition information is on our website. We have an elementary team (1st through 3rd grade), an intermediate team (4th through 6th grade), a junior team (7th through 9th grade), and a senior elite team (10th through 12th grade). Our teams meet once a week for 1 and a half to two hours. Members are not required to attend technical classes, but we encourage them in order to improve their skills. There are periodic Saturday practices (about four per year), and we attend three to four competitions in the spring semester. We end our season with our dance recital entitled “Star Celebration” in May. In addition, our team members enjoy spending time together at social functions like our lock-in, Rookie Kidnap, Christmas parties, and end of year parties.

LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNIITES – Our intermediate and junior teams have leadership positions available to those who audition for them or are selected to those roles. These girls serve as Captains, Lieutenants, Chaplain, Historian, Community Service Coordinator, and more. This is a great opportunity for those who want the extra challenge and want to serve their teammates. All Leaders or Officers perform extra dances as well at contests.

OUR INSTRUCTORS – We are very selective in whom we have teaching our students. All of our staff works diligently to help your child improve while enjoying their dance experience. Starting classes on time and ending on time is very important to us. Making sure we use our time appropriately is also important as we don’t want to waste precious teaching time. Staff is available for conferences about your child’s progress by appointment. Our staff values your time and investment in our program!
