DescriptionThe BC Lions Society for Children with Disabilities has been registered as a charitable organization since 1952. You may also know us as the Easter Seal People. Under both names, our Society mandate is to support children with disabilities throughout British Columbia. The British Columbia Lions Society for Children with Disabilities provides programs and services designed specifically to promote self esteem and self confidence. This familiar service began in 1947 when a handful of Lions Club members began using their own station wagons to transport children with disabilities to school. As a result, we have 16 specially-equipped buses leased to private agencies transporting children to hospitals, schools, treatment centres and recreational facilities in 12 communities around the province. Today we continue to give children with disabilities the opportunity to attend programs that will help them develop and focus on their own abilities. Details
